Cedar Party Creek Bridge
The original timber span bridge built in 1920 was identified in urgent need of replacement. The bridge is integral in accessing the central Wingham business district and a key feature of the entry experience into Wingham.
The bridge and Wingham Road sit adjacent to Chrissy Gallan Park which is an important and much-loved community recreation and social gathering space.
The urban design framework and concept design prepared by Michael White Landscape Architecture integrated the unique history of the area into the design components and built form of the bridge and roadside furniture. It provided better connections and recreational facilities to Chrissy Gallan Park as well as landscaping along the road corridor for erosion control, habitat corridor connections and general amenity.
