Georgetown local centre is undergoing an upgrade to improve the accessibility, safety and convenience for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as creating outdoor meeting, social and alfresco spaces through the closure of an intersection to establish a new town plaza.

Michael White Landscape Architecture has been working closely with the City of Newcastle to develop a public domain plan that acknowledges the site’s history through the selective use of materials and interpretations, while delivering a contemporary outdoor setting driven by the community feedback.
