Hely Street is in the Wyong CBD precinct and is aligned with critical social infrastructure such as the Council chambers, Services NSW, Library, Courthouse, Police Station and Youth Centre. Large London Plane trees characterise the street but are causing trip hazards, impacting services and have been nominated to be removed.

Michael White Landscape Architecture was engaged to take an urban design response for the upgrade of a section of Hely Street. The urban design approach considered the street within the broader context of the CBD and nominated paving, street furniture and tree species that could be implemented over time throughout the CBD to deliver a cohesive civic design language, unique to Wyong.
